CIRCLE OF FRIENDS!

Penny was diagnosed with
breast cancer and did her
surgery on July 23 and just
one week later we took dinner
and paid her a visit.
We saw she had received 53
cards and had them artfully
arranged in a circle symbolizing the circle of
love.

Betsy had not sent a card
so she quickly made one out of
a paper plate but she also made
some very tasty empanadas and
visited. She was absolved.

Notice how so many of us had on pink.
I think it was a total coincidence.
Check out this other circular
art piece.

For the record she is recovering nicely and
will start radiation in one week. No lymph
node involvement made her happy.
She has had a rough 2010, remember she had
the head trauma just months ago.
She thanks everyone for their support.

Where in the world are we?

Where am I on a Thursday?

Are you guessing Italy?

Maybe you said Greece?

Actually we are at Holiday Park
in Indianapolis where they
give free concerts every other
Thursday in the summertime.
People seem to enjoy themselves
There is a very eclectic crowd
Below is a neighbor of kathy Willis'
who was surprised to see that
her neighbors could misbehave.

They really weren't misbehaving unless
dancing and acting silly counts.

The band was "Living Proof" and they
played a lot of great stuff that was
so danceable.
Look who was dancing below

Mystic Pizza!

Cindy lives on Mystic bay a hidden secret
lake community right in the middle of Indy.
Every Monday friends gather to play tennis,
eat pizza or maybe a southwest salad,
share wine and goodwill.

we swim on hot nights also
and gather on the screened in porch
or the deck

The condo is fabulous
and is a work in progress.
This is one of the cool light fixtures
on the porch.

Sometimes we go out on a
pontoon and cruise the lake

Below is Mary who is the contractor,
designer, chief cook and bottle washer.
They have a great sound system,
music piped all throughout the home.
Neighbors drop in even if they
don't play tennis.

Cindy is in the green T-shirt below
and is the most welcoming person.

We are really lucky to have this great lake
condo to hang out at.

It's Never Too Late!

Neal has never been married and he is the
guy in the white shirt who after dating Sue for 16
years decided to get married. Sue is the one in
the black dress. Their invitation said "Hell
freezes Over" so they decided to tie the knot.

Neal is here with his Mom and he said they
thought both mothers would have been
pleased that they did it.

They had a celebration at the upper
room of Plum's in Zionsville with
great hor doerves, drinks and
dancing.

These are some of the guests at this
fun event. I think it was great that they
made the commitment. Barb and Frank who
are shown here made the commitment on
7-7-2007. Look what they started.

My cousin carol owns this building
that houses "Plum's Upper Room" in
Zionsville. It is a very quaint old
building.

Images of my Minnesota visit.

On my recent visit up north, my grandson
had been ill two days before we came
and I suspect he was still under the weather.
Then he had to put up with Po-Po.

We took him some Thomas and friends
and he loved them. I am totally amazed
that these characters from Sodor in England
can have such appeal to kids. There are
character trains such as Toby and Flora and
trust me at 19 months they know these
character trains.

He loves swimming and is not
scared of getting his head under.

Probably his favorite thing is to
ride on his Dad's shoulders.
He is pretty crazy about his Dad.

He does have a quiet moment or two.
He likes to sit in his own little Ikea
chair and will watch a video of trains
or trucks. His grandma Hansen
has a nice way with him.

I liked how he wanted to read the
newspaper just like Dad or Grandpa.

Of course Uncle Scotty was a hit
with everyone. He could find "Thomas
the Train" videos on UTube.

I think uncle Scotty's green Honda hat
is cool. Maybe I will borrow it.

Really Cool Dude

I am in Minnesota
visiting a very cool dude.
Here we are swinging away
on a beautiful summer day.
Life is good when you are
strolled to the park then after
to an open air cafe for a coffee
and a muffin.

The Bandeau Show or Euchre?

The July Euchre party was held at my

home and a good time was had by all.

It was Rob's 64th birthday and Penny made

him a whipped cream strawberry cake

of course topped with sparklers.
There was dancing involved.
Everyone liked the music on
the Oldies on Pandora radio
put out by the blue ray DVD.

A pink bandeau with a flower seemed to
be a hit with the crowd. Everyone had to
model but Greg had the most innovative
approach. Check out his pirate motif below.

Stan reluctantly admitted that the next party
was to be hosted by him. I guess he will have
to once more clean his house.
